Week #5—September 28 to October 2

We have a wonderful, marvelous normal week coming up—everyone teaching and learning and getting oriented toward the fall activities. Now that we are used to masking up and spacing out, it will be possible to go back to some of our fall rituals—definitely spiders and pumpkin painting and pumpkin carving and tie-dye day, etc. I’m putting the October calendar together today and it will come out on Wednesday as part of the October newsletter. We have built in a teacher workday this month, I think the 26th, but I’m not sure, yet. That will help us get the report cards out on time and allow for some deeper cleaning of high-touch areas and clearing out closets, etc. At this point, our only openings are in the youngest class—we can use three more kids in 1st/2nd grades, so if you know anyone that is looking, let me know.

Monday—Today is Yom Kippur—a day to reflect on the year ahead in the Jewish tradition. Maybe we should all make resolutions this week to make the fall better for ourselves and to be kinder.  Today is a regular bus route and bus fees for September are due ($40/month)—you can send them on Cashap:  $debbiegathmann6951.

Tuesday—Spanish is today from 11:30 to about 1:15 for different classes.

Wednesday—Tennis day for the Sugar Gliders from 1:30 to 2:30. Soon we’ll have enough rackets for everyone, but until then, we have a few rackets and Kyle can loan us some. If you want your child in the Gliders to take tennis, it is $8/class and for October, that would be 4 classes, if the weather cooperates. Some paid ahead a little in September, so I’ll let you guys know what you’ll owe on a red slip of paper in the mailboxes.

Thursday—Piano Lessons this morning from 1:00 to 2:00.  The Spider Invasion begins today. Children have completed paintings that will go on display on the piazza today.

Friday—Tennis today for the Kangaroos from 1:00 to 2:00.  No bus routes today. Soon we’ll have enough rackets for everyone, but until then, we have a few rackets and Kyle can loan us some. If you want your child in the Kangaroos to take tennis, it is $8/class and for October, that would be 4 classes, if the weather cooperates. Some paid ahead a little in September, so I’ll let you guys know what you’ll owe on a red slip of paper in the mailboxes.

Parents—please send in your child’s shot records. They will be on a form 3231 and you can have your MD office e-mail them to me, if you like. I’ve gotten 5 but I need about 9 more.
